Minimizing outgoing links

Ξ June 30th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ blogging, blog |

When I started my last blog of the same name, I said that I would keep the paid posts to a minimum. Then I decided to try and make enough money to pay for school so I started posting like crazy. Well, I’m going back to what I originally stated. I will try to keep 2-3 posts between paid posts.

Once you have too many paid posts, your blog can look yucky. It doesn’t look personal at all. As as matter of fact, it makes your blog look like a gigantic link farm. That’s not the direction I want this blog to take, so I will limit those types of posts.

Oh, and just because a post has links in it doesn’t make it a paid post. Sometimes, you talk about something and link to a site to bring your point home. So keep that in mind if you see a lot of posts with links in them.

Joke of the week

The Genealogy of Mr. Jack Schitt

The lineage is finally revealed. Many people are at a loss
for a response when someone says, “You don’t know Jack
Schitt.” Now you can intellectually handle the situation.
Jack is the only son of Awe Schitt and O. Schitt. Awe
Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the
owner of Needeep N. Schitt Inc.

They had one son, Jack. In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe
Schitt, and the deeply religious couple produced 6
children: Holie Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Giva Schitt, Bull
Schitt, and the twins: Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parent’s objections, Deap Schitt married Dumb
Schitt, a high school drop out. However, after being
married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt
later remarried Ted Sherlock and, because her kids were
living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name.
She was then known as Noe Schitt-Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt and they produced
a son of nervous disposition, Chicken Schitt. Two other of
the 6 children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were
inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married
the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding
announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens
wedding. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and
Hoarse.

Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world.
He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride,
Pisa Schitt. So now when someone says, “You don’t know Jack
Schitt”, you can correct them.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne

Ξ June 27th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ tv |

I really like this show. I wasn’t too sure about it. I love Tyler’s work but I didn’t know how the series would pan out. It was slow during the first week while they introduced the characters. I am so glad I watched the last two weeks. This show is better than I expected it to be.

The actors aren’t commercially known but they’ve been around a long time. I believe the majority of them have appeared in one of Tyler’s plays or movies before. The only one I had ever heard of was Allen Payne when he appeared in New Jack City and Jason’s Lyric.

I think this show has a lot of potential. Once the characters are fully introduced (which should happen within the next two weeks) the show should really take off. If you haven’t seen the show, you should check it out. Especially if you like Tyler’s work.

Why can’t my friends like baseball?

Argh! My job has a volunteer opportunity where they give you 2 tickets to a game if you pass out flyers beforehand. I wanted to do it, but I wouldn’t have anyone to take to the game with me. Why, well none of my friends like baseball.  Not one.

I always say I need new friends, this is just another reason why.

Shutting down a blog

Ξ June 24th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ blogging, blog |

I’ve already written that I’m thinking of shutting down my blogger blog with the same name. I didn’t realize how much work I had put into that blog. I have links, reviews, and I get traffic. Not a ton, but enough to make me happy. If I shut that blog down, I have to start all over on this blog. Bah, I’m not happy about that.

I think I’ll take another week or two before I make a final decision. It’s gonna be a harder decision than I thought.

20 Freaking 5

There is this guy at my job who I think is very handsome. He seems mature, easy going, articulate, educated, successful at his job and anything else you can imagine. He’s the total package.

I just found out yesterday that he’s only 25. He’s not even 25, he’s actually only 24. He won’t be 25 until his next birthday. Arrrrrghhhhhh. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned how old I am. Let’s just say it’s hella older than 25. I usually date younger men too, but not that darn young.

Sigh!

Joke of the week

Ξ June 21st, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ joke of the week |

Two old ladies are outside their nursing home, having a drink and a smoke, when it starts to rain. One of the old ladies pulls out a condom, cuts off the end, puts it over her cigarette, and continues smoking.

Maude: What in the hell is that?

Mabel: A condom. This way my cigarette doesn’t get wet.

Maude: Where did you get it?

Mabel: You can get them at any drugstore.

The next day, Maude hobbles herself into the local drug-store and announces to the pharmacist that she wants a box of condoms.

The pharmacist, obviously embarrassed, looks at her kind of strangely (she is after all, over 80 years of age), but very delicately asks what brand of condom she prefers.

“Doesn’t matter Sonny, as long as it fits on a Camel.”

The pharmacist fainted.

Decisions decisions

Well, I finally did it. I moved this blog to its own domain. I still have my blogger blog, for now. But I have to decide whether I want to import all of those posts to this site or leave that site up and running too.

It’s going to be hard to run multiple blogs. That’s one of the reasons I want to shut the other blog down. However I have a good page rank on that blog and I don’t really want to give that up.

I’ll take a few days to think about it.
