I’m back at work

Man, it sucks going back to work after vacation. I’m still sick, so I’m hacking and coughing all over the place. It feels like the air conditioning is on 60 it’s so cold in here. Then again, it could be the fact that I’m sick that’s making it seem like it’s extra cold.

I need a vacation to recuperate from my vacation. Coming back to work sucks. I need to hit the powerball so I never have to work again.

This sucks!!!!

The Phillies were in town this weekend and I didn’t get to go at all. Friday I was away on vacation. Yesterday I got home but the game was almost over by the time I got off of the plane. Now today, I’m sick so I can’t go sit outside.

Add to the fact that it’s raining and there’s no way I could go watch the game. I was really hoping for a rain out so they would have to make up the game. No such luck. And I wanted to go see Ryan Howard. Pout, pout, pout.

Wow I haven’t posted in a while

Vacation wasn’t that great. I’ll write some update posts on each of my blogs. I was glad for the time away from work, but family can drive you crazy. Not to mention the fact that we all got sick. Now that sucks. You get one real vacation per year and get sick on it.

At least I still have a day to recuperate before I go back to work.

Barry Bonds is the new home run king

I wasn’t even watching tv last night and I almost missed it. I turned on Sports Center to see scores and Barry was next to bat. I sat up and watched his at bat and thought he was gonna strike out.

With a 3-2 count he hit the ball hard. As soon as you heard the bat connect with the ball you knew it was a home run. His team mates and coaching staff came out to congratulate him at home plate. I thought it was a nice touch that the Nationals left the field to give him his time to celebrate.

Hank Aaron appearing on the jumbotron was nice as well. He didn’t go to the game but he made his speech and passed the torch to Barry. All in all it was a pretty good night. I’m glad I turned the game on, even if it was by accident.

Vacation and baseball games

I always miss the good games. Good games to me are Phillies and/or Yankees games. The game of the week on Sunday night is the Braves vs. the Phillies. Doesn’t that just figure. I’ll be on vacation so I won’t see it. I doubt if I’ll catch any games during my vacation.

Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait for vacation I just hate missing sports. If it was football season, I would definitely be glued in front of a tv.

I missed the perfect car

I want to buy a car. More importantly, I need a car. I’ve been stuck in the house all summer because I can’t get around. I’ve had a car for so long that I’m really lost without one.

I looked into the PennySaver (a local book) and saw a car that seemed perfect. It was a low price, 2 door automatic. There were a lot of other specs that seemed to fit into what I was looking for. Unfortunately I found the car on Saturday and the book came out on Wednesday.

I called the owner who told me he had several interested buyers. He took my number but it wasn’t looking good. He called me today with a courtesy call to let me know he sold the car. I thought that was cool of him especially considering he had no incentive to do so.

I’ll keep looking. Hopefully, something will come through for me.

Well he did it

Barry Bonds tied Hank Aaron’s home run record at 755 yesterday. I heard about it on the radio before I saw it because it was a late game and I had already turned Sports Center off. I hope he hurries up and breaks the record so we don’t have to hear about him anymore.

I’m thinking of putting up a 756 asterisk banner on my other blog. I’m not sure yet.

I’m really irritated right now

First of all it’s hot as hell. It’s 10 o’clock at night and it’s still 85 degrees outside. It seems like it’s closer to 95 in my apartment.

I hate my neighbors. They’re extra super ghetto. They yell up at each others windows like it’s the projects (no offense project people). They also run in and out of each others apartments. You don’t even know who lives where.

A-Rod hit his 500th career home run becoming the youngest person to do so. Was the game televised. Nope! There was a stupid game on but not the one I wanted to see. Meanwhile, we’ve been getting force fed Barry Bonds for the last 2 weeks.

Speaking of which, I wish Barry would hit the home runs already and just go away. The only people who care are people in San Francisco and Barry’s family. Nobody else cares! Everyone already knows that within 5-7 years A-Rod will be the new home run king anyway!

I’m ready for a new job

I’ve been at my job for 15 months. I got this bs promotion which is locking me in my job for another 3 months. I’m ready to move now! It seems like a bunch of perfect jobs are opening up now. I know that more jobs will open up when it’s time for me to post out but I wanna go now.

There is nowhere else for me to go in my area. There are very few positions that are higher than I am. I would have to go to another team and work for another supervisor to get a 1 job grade promotion. However, that’s not a given because there are people with more seniority and experience than me. And the position isn’t open yet. Who knows when it will be.

It’s time to move on. I just have to keep my wits about me for the next 3 months.

I had a potential site sponsor

It was for my other site. But the terms were ridiculous, and not in my favor at all. One or two links is fine, but they wanted a ton.

First, they wanted a dedicated section for their website. Ok I can deal with that. Next they wanted 10 pages with articles that they’ve written. If I felt that any of the articles needed to be tweaked that would have been fine. Lastly, they wanted each article to have 3-4 links pointing to their site. What?!?! That’s 30-40 links pointing to the same site all from my blog!

That is totally ridiculous. I don’t know what kind of money they were offering but it definitely wasn’t worth it. Needless to say I sent a “thanks but no thanks” email. I don’t want my blogs looking like link farms. Maybe something else will come through.
