Stupid commercial-Reebok NFL gear for women

Ξ September 30th, 2007 | → 2 Comments | ∇ things that suck, football |

Ughh I hate this commercial. Not just because they’re wearing Giants and Jets gear. I mean really, those teams have fans? Ok I know they do, but uh they could have picked better teams. I’m a Steeler fan and I wouldn’t have minded a Colts vs Patriots commercial.

Anyway, back to my rant/vent. Do advertisers really think women act like this? And what women are they basing this stupid commercial on? I know a lot of women football fans, none of us do this.

Have you ever gone into a football party and played patty-cake with the hostess and then did the bump? That is the dumbest damn thing I ever saw. I get mad every time this commercial comes on. It makes all women look like they’re more concerned with fashion and not the game. I bet most female fans know more about the game than the stupid advertisers who came up with this campaign.

I’ll be glad when they sack this commercial.

Phillies, Sox and Cubs - Oh My!

Ξ September 29th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, baseball |

The Yankees lost so the Red Sox won the AL East. They will probably play the Angels and the Yankees play the Indians in the first round of the ALDS.

The National League? Not so easy. The Phillies won and the Mets lost. The Phillies are leading the NL East by 1 game. The Mets meltdown could keep them from making the playoffs. They are 2 behind the Padres for the wildcard. Wouldn’t that be the end all to end all if they missed the playoffs?

The Brewers lost so the Cubs won the NL Central. I’m glad the Brewers lost, I don’t like that team at all. The West is still up for grabs right now. Baseball is going down to the wire in the National League.

I love this!!!

Ryan Howard is the new strikeout king

Ξ September 28th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ I love Ryan Howard, Phillies, baseball |

Woohoo! Oh wait, that’s not exactly an accomplishment you should celebrate. lolol. He broke Adam Dunn’s record of 195 earlier in the week. Yesterday he set the record at 196. He also hit a 2-run homer yesterday and is a candidate for the NL MVP again this year!

Go Ryan!!!!!!!!!

I skipped school today

Ξ September 27th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ school |

I am just exhausted. I was so tired at work. One of my supervisors even commented that I looked tired. I came straight home and went to bed. I slept for close to 4 hours. I’ll spend some time on Saturday and read my book and take notes. Then next week, I’ll ask one of my classmates for their notes from today and write down anything that I may have missed.

Did you upgrade to Wordpress 2.3?

Ξ September 26th, 2007 | → 2 Comments | ∇ blogging, blog |

I didn’t. I never upgrade right away. I let everyone else test it out and report the bugs. Then after the patches come out, I upgrade.

I know quite a few people have said that they didn’t like the fact that their tag section was gone. One person had her whole site go wonky. As for me I’ll wait a few weeks.

What about you? Did you upgrade yet?

Keeping posts in draft

Ξ September 25th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ blogging, blog |

I don’t have any posts in draft right now. I need to get on the ball and get my supply back up. I keep posts in draft for days when I don’t have anything to say (rarely), or I’m too busy to sit and write up a good post (most days).

Right now school is hectic and so is my job. We’re short-staffed at work by 2 people so we’re going crazy. I hardly have enough time to breathe let alone write up a blog post.

I haven’t even been keeping up with baseball the last week or two. Now you know I’m busy.

My Alexa rankings don’t match up

Ξ September 24th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ blog |

My Alexa viewbar doesn’t match up with my widget on my blog. I notice that some places list my score as what’s on the viewbar and some have the same ranking as my widget.

When I check my stats on the Alexa site, they come up with the same numbers on my widget for all of my sites except this one. Surprise, surprise. My widget is way lower than my viewbar too. By almost 3 million.

I’ll be glad when all of my stats sync up. This kind of stuff drives me crazy.

Edit: I just check and this site matches my widget on Alexa. Now I wish the viewbars would match up.

When is a blog post too long?

Ξ September 23rd, 2007 | → 4 Comments | ∇ blogging, blog |

What is too long for a blog post. I try to keep my posts less than 3 paragraphs. Sometimes they’re a lot longer because I have a lot to say. Do you judge posts by paragraphs or word count.

I know some people have word counters and said their readers don’t like posts over 400 words. I don’t usually count the words in my posts. I just type until I feel I got my point across.

What do you think? Do you think a post can be too long? What would make you not want to read a particular post.

TV shows about Las Vegas

Ξ September 22nd, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ travel |

I don’t know why I torture myself watching these shows. Every time I watch one, I get the urge to go. I even start scouting airfares and hotels. The last time I tried to go, I couldn’t get a cheap airfare and cheap hotel at the same time. I have to try to arrange the trip around my school schedule so that makes it a little harder.

I’m determined to get back to Vegas before next summer. I don’t know how I’m going to pull it off, but I will.

My contact lens scratched my eye

Ξ September 21st, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ health |

And man did it hurt. It even hurt when I blinked. It felt like a piece of sand was sitting directly on my eye and no matter what I did it wouldn’t come out. I guess my eyes were also fatigued because when I woke up this morning my eyes felt normal. Almost as if nothing was ever wrong with them.

I’m glad everything is ok, I hate when my eyes act up!
