Blah

I have nothing to say today. I’ll blog tomorrow. Sports hangovers suck!

I’m in mourning

Yankees lose. I just don’t have anything  else to say. : < (

Blog maintenance Monday

I’m glad today is an off day because of the Columbus Day Holiday. I love days off from work. Anyway, I will be doing blog maintenance all day. I have several blogs to maintain.

There are 5 blogs total but this one doesn’t have any links I need to clean up and one of the others is only updated 2x a month so that one is cool. The other 3 are gonna be a project. I’ll probably spend the better part of the afternoon cleaning them up.

Pittsburgh Steelers Randomness

1. The Steelers are 4-1 heading into the bye week with a 21-0 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

2. The Seahawk players and fans kept calling this a “Super Bowl rematch”. You got your asses kicked today, can you please shut up now?

3. The national media loves Mike Tomlin. They’re complimentary of him and every decision he makes. Of course I love him, he’s hot!

4. Our coach is hotter than your coach.

5. We had no less than 5 players out this week. Hines, Troy, Casey, Brian, and Santonio. Most of them were just getting rest heading into the bye to come back strong.

6. We play the Broncos then 3 divisional games after the bye. We’re leading the divisional standings but we’ve only played 1 divisional game to date. Now it gets hard.

7. Maybe Najeh needs to have baby-momma drama every week if that’s how he’s going to play. Not to make light of the situation, but Najeh was a beast!

Well the Phillies are out

I don’t know if I really expected them to move on. I was just happy they made the playoffs after 13 years. They got swept by the Rockies who will now face the D-Backs in the NLCS.

The Yankees are losing their series 0-2. I hope they don’t get swept too. I may not be able to watch their game tonight. Hey, Sunday is football day darnit.

Leaving your link when visiting blogs

I read my comments and visit the blog of the person leaving the comment. I had several comments on my other blog where the link led to nowhere. I kept getting 404 errors. In one instance, the person spelled their domain name wrong.  I went and looked and saw where the mistake was and fixed it. Most people wouldn’t have done that. They would just say oh well and keep on moving.

People can’t visit your site if you spell the name wrong in your link. The name of the game in blogging is link love and site visits. Make sure you check your links!

Inside the Steelers Huddle

This show is so funny. It’s hosted by Hines Ward and Deshea Townsend of the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s co-hosted by former Steeler Tunch Ilkin. The show is every Tuesday at 7pm during the season. The special guest this week was Allen Rossum.

The top 3 quotes from the show this week:

1. “It’s broke, it’s broke, it’s gotta be broke” - Deshea talking about how he tweaked his arm, it went numb and thought it was behind him when it was at his side.

2. “There’s no I in team, but there’s a I in Hines” - Hines was telling a story and Deshea counted Hines saying I or me 18 times.

3. “My alias is Al Ross” - Allen Rossum explaining why people call him Ross. It’s because they couldn’t pronounce Rossum.

I love this show. If you’re a Steelers fan, you really need to check it out on WDVE.com 102.5 fm.

I miss entering sweepstakes

One of my hobbies used to be professional sweepstaking. Yeah, that’s really a hobby. You just find sweepstakes with prizes you’re interested in and enter. Some sweepstakers will enter for any and every prize they find. Other people only enter for things they really want. That was my approach.

I entered mostly for electronics, trips and of course money. I stopped entering because of postage and the internet. Sweepstakes where you could only enter by mail got expensive. Even if you only enter 5 per week, you usually enter multiple times and the postage really adds up.

I stopped entering on the internet because even casual sweepers entered so you were up against some stiff odds. Some contests get over 100,000 entries for even the simplest of prizes.

I don’t miss entering or paying for postage, but I sure miss winning.

Phillies lose 1st game

I know it’s only the first game of the series but it was at home. Ugh, maybe I’m glad I wasn’t able to see the game.

And no, I don’t plan on updating each and every game. I just realized that I hadn’t posted anything today.

I had to change my last post

I thought the Padres were going to win. But the Rockies pulled it out in the bottom of the 13th. Yeah the 13th! It was tied 6-6 in the 13th. Then the Padres scored 2 in the top of the 13th. The Rockies put up 3 in the bottom of the inning. These guys were playing their hearts out.

The playoffs are gonna be awesome!
