You can’t be nice to some people

Ξ December 31st, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ people that suck, blogging, blog |

Or try to help them. Someone posted in a public forum that I frequent asking questions about the service. I pm’d them to give them some info that would help them out. They wrote back asking me “how I knew what I knew” and “where can I find the info”. No big deal I gave them links to several threads with answers to their questions.

The pm’d me again and changed the title of the mail to end in “blah blah”. Then they started going off asking me if I had actually read their blog, they have quality articles that are over 2 pages which is why they use a read more tag (a no-no at the site we were on) and that they don’t just post crappy 3 sentence entries.

Ummm wow. I just let it go. I don’t think my entries are crappy just because I keep my thoughts short and sweet. I could drone on and on but who wants to read that. One thing’s for certain, I will not try to help them anymore.

I try to do a good thing and look what happens.

Waiting for my final assignment

Ξ December 30th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ school |

My teacher hasn’t gotten back to me yet with a date to take my make-up assignment. I guess I’ll hear from him next week when he gets back from Christmas break. I was in the bathroom looking through the bathroom vanities when I heard my bell go off from my email program but it was from someone else.

I just want to hurry up and take the final assignment and get it over with. I’m really nervous about it because he’s not telling me which part of the material to study for so I pretty much have to study everything.

How often do you post?

Ξ December 29th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ blogging, blog |

I try to post once a day. I miss days when I’m on vacation, when I’m sick or when I have a lot of school-work. I read some blogs where people post 3 and 4 times per day. That’s a lot for me because I have multiple blogs. I have a lot to say but not that much.

What about you? How many times do you post per day?

Do you make New Year’s resolutions?

Ξ December 28th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ health, school, savings, money |

It’s getting close to that time again. Time for New Year’s resolutions. What about you, do make any? Do you keep them? I try to make some every year. I don’t always keep them though. One of my resolutions was to lose weight this year. I did lose some weight but not as much as I wanted to. I didn’t even have to take any pills or Miracle burn to do it. It was just exercise incorporated into my daily routine.

I also always make a resolution regarding my finances. It’s usually to save a certain amount. In 2007 it was $500. I did save that amount but I have to spend it for school since I blew one of my other resolutions. That’s was to get a B in every class. I didn’t get a very good grade in my class so I have to pay for school with no reimbursement. I didn’t add as much stock to my account as I wanted either. I did buy some more bonds but I miscalculated how much I had so I don’t know if I really met that goal either.

Geeze now that I’m reading through this, I’m getting depressed. It seems like I didn’t meet any of my goals. I guess I need to think of 5 good ones for 2008.

I am so tired

Ξ December 27th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ work, health |

I am not a morning person. Not at all. For the longest time I worked evenings. I worked 2pm until 10pm. Now I work a regular 8:15am-4:45pm job and it’s the worse! At least for me. It’s not the job or the people, it’s just getting up in the morning. I’ve worked here for almost 2 years now and I’m still not used to it. I mean if I had some camping gear right now, I would lay down under my desk and take a nap.

The weird thing is that at one time, I started to feel like I was getting used to working normal hours. I would get up in the morning and not feel cranky or groggy. But here lately, it’s back. It may just be due to the stress of school and the holidays. I could also be too much caffeine. I just can’t seem to give up my Pepsi though!

Today is very blah

Coming back to work after being off for 4 days is the worse. I’m really tired today and I just want to take a nap. My flight was at 7:15pm and I got home at 8:45. Then we went to see if any restaurants were open and drove around a little bit. Then we chilled at my house for a couple of hours.

After my friend left, I check my email then went to bed around 12:30am. I didn’t get a good nights sleep though. I think I woke up 3 or 4 times during the night. I’ll be glad when the day is over.

30 Secrets of the World’s Healthiest Cuisines

Ξ December 21st, 2007 | → 2 Comments | ∇ radio, books |

I was listening to the John Tesh radio show (stop laughing I like that show) and he reviewed a book called 30 Secrets of the World’s Healthiest Cuisines. The very first thing he talked about was Scandanavian countries, Sweden in particular. They don’t snack at all. They eat their 3 square meals per day but they don’t eat a lot of junk food like we do in the U.S.

In some Asian cultures, meat is used as a flavor enhancer. They eat a lot of vegetables and rice but hardly any meat at all. And the secrets of Mediterranean foods is using olive oil is better than other oils, but eating olives is even better for you.

It was a lot of information and very interesting. And yes, I will admit that I listen to the John Tesh radio show.

Now I won’t be cutting it quite as close

Ξ December 20th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ holidays, travel |

My manager is letting me leave 1/2 hr early tomorrow. That means I’ll leave work a full 2 hours before my flight. That’s enough time to drive to the airport, park and get through security. I just like to be at the airport an hour in advance of my flight because you never know what’s going to happen. Security could be backed up, traffic could be bad, you name it and it could happen to me.

Holiday travel is stressful.

Applying to blogging networks

Ξ December 19th, 2007 | → 2 Comments | ∇ blogging, blog |

I’ve been submitting my site to additional blogging networks as a way to generate traffic. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I do notice that if I post multiple times per day I tend to get more traffic. If I only had one blog that wouldn’t be a problem but since I have multiple blogs it’s pretty hard to do that. Some days I barely have enough time to write a single post for 1 blog. Never mind the fact that I have 4 blogs that I update regularly.

What about you, how do you drive additional traffic to your site?

Driving like a bat outta hell!

Ξ December 18th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ travel, family |

That will be me on Friday. I get off of work at 4:45pm but my flight is at 6:15pm. I was going to ask if I could leave early but my coworker is off and I’m his backup. I may be able to leave a half hour early but that’s about it. If not I have an 1 1/2 hours to get to the airport, park, get through security and get to my gate. That is sooo not gonna happen. I’ll be driving like a maniac trying to make it.

I’m not even gonna talk about parking which is gonna set me back about $40 since I have to park at the airport. Even one of the satellite parking places will be expensive because it’s the weekend. Geeze visiting family is very expensive and I haven’t even left home yet.
