I should have gone to the game

I was kinda ticked off watching the Yankees game yesterday afternoon. Last year when we went to the Sunday game of the series, we got sucky tickets because that’s all that was left. I watched yesterday’s game and there were seats all over. It wasn’t empty but there were a decent number of seats available. They were good seats too. There were seats along the 1st and 3rd base line and some right behind the visitors dugout. I would have gladly paid for those seats. Although it was chilly outside and the Yankees ended up losing the game 5-4, it was still a good game. I’m at least glad it was the afternoon game of the week and I was able to see it on tv.

Next time I’m going to at least try to get tickets and not expect that there won’t be any seats available.

I should have gotten baseball tickets

The Pirates are home this weekend but I really don’t want to see them or the team that they’re playing (Astros). However, the Yankees are in Cleveland. I didn’t even know this until Wednesday during the game when they announced the Yankees upcoming road trip. They’re only in Cleveland for one series and for 4 games. Tonight’s game was on a rain delay but because I had to work, I wouldn’t have gone today anyway. That doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t have gone to either tomorrow or Sunday’s game.

I really want to go to the ballpark for the food. They really have everything imaginable at the park. I wouldn’t really eat much because my herbal appetite suppressant won’t let me get hungry. I may have a sandwich and a drink but that’s about it. I wouldn’t really pig out like I would normally do.

I’m really hopeful that I’ll make it to a game before the summer is out. I still have a little bit of money left on my Pirates gift card and I want to make sure I use it all up. The last thing I want to do is let the gift card expire or have some of the money be taken for fees. I don’t like giving away money.

I can’t find any good jokes

Today is supposed to be my joke day. However I can’t find any that I really like. I have some that I think are a little too racy for my blogs but the rest seem to be really lame. They’re some variation of a joke that I’ve already posted. I looked at some sites that I thought had jokes but they focused on other things like the credit crisis, Mesothelioma cancer, or pet care. Those are not exactly joke material.

I’ll keep looking around to see what I can find. Hopefully I can find several jokes so that I can have posts for the next few weeks. If not, then I may have to start soliciting my readers for their favorite jokes.

Hmm, maybe I’ll make it a contest or something. Now that’s something to think about.

I hadn’t planned on getting on the computer tonight

But I have to do something for my coworker who doesn’t have access to a computer. She’s singing in church this Sunday and she needs background music. My neighbor has the music she needs so I’m going to borrow his cd and burn it for her. I hope it doesn’t take a long time since my computer is so slow. I also have a bunch of stuff to do around the house that I want to get done before the baseball game comes on at 7pm. And I really don’t want to spend the entire night playing on the computer.

That’s a weird statement coming from me, but in this case it’s true!

The most boring weekend ever

I know I didn’t have anything for the weekend planned. I also said that I wanted a slow laid back weekend but this took the cake. I didn’t do anything. On Saturday it was pretty nice early in the day but I didn’t feel like going anywhere. I really wanted to get out of town but I’m not sure if I’m up for the drive yet. I need to gradually build up to a longer drive. Right now I’m good for an hour each way but I’m not sure about much more than that.

I need to start driving again because being stuck around here really stinks.

I need a air conditioner

It’s going to be entirely too hot for me to suffer through another summer without a air conditioner. Also my niece is coming to visit and it’s not fair to her to have to suffer because I’m cheap. The crazy thing is that I’ve always had the money to get the air conditioner, I just don’t want to deal with the installation. I have to take a screen out, put the unit in then block off the window. It shouldn’t take me too long but we’ll see.

I’ll be going out this weekend to see what I can find. I have a small apartment with really small windows so I’m pretty limited as to what I can buy. It’s too bad I didn’t buy it last year before Circuit City went out of business. I’m sure I could have gotten a great deal since they had everything on sale. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t even think of getting one then. I just decided to get it within the past few weeks. Since I have a few days off work, I can shop around for the best deal.

Hopefully I won’t have to pay too much.

Joke of the week

Marriage…Strike That, Reverse It…

A conversation before marriage…

He : Yes. At last. It was so hard to wait.

She : Do you want me to leave?

He : No! Don’t even think about it.

She : Do you love me?

He : Of course! Over and over!

She : Have you ever cheated on me?

He : No! Why are you even asking?

She : Will you kiss me?

He : Every chance I get.

She : Will you hit me?

He : Are you crazy! I’m not that kind of person!

She : Can I trust you?

He : Yes.

She : Darling!

To read a conversation after marriage, simply read this in reverse…

Writing letters

Wow, it’s such a chore for me to write a letter. I would rather pick up the phone and call someone. There’s one person that I don’t have a choice about writing though. Unless I want to take a collect call. Heck no on that, collect calls are super expensive.

Let me finish before I start procrastinating again.

106.7 Wamo and Black radio dead in Pittsburgh

I just read a article on UrbanRadio.com. I can’t believe that Sheridan Broadcasting sold the station. Apparently there was a big to-do last Friday on Facebook. Since I’m not on Facebook yet, I missed it. I’m always saying that Pittsburgh lacks diversity and now there won’t even be a urban station in the area.

It’s things like this that makes my decision to move a whole lot easier.

I have these annoying pop-ups

I can’t stand them. They just pop-up whenever they want to. I don’t do anything special to trigger them. I know that I probably downloaded some software of something that makes them appear but I can’t find the code to get rid of it.

If I can’t buy a new computer soon, I’ll reformat this one to get rid of everything. It’s bad enough this thing runs super slow, now I have to contend with this craziness. I guess that’s what I get for just randomly downloading stuff and not really understanding what it is. You best believe I’ve learned my lesson from that.
