RIP Michael Jackson

I was getting ready to do my regular blogging yesterday when I heard the news. To say I was in shock is pretty much an understatement. I grew up on Michael Jackson and I cried when he got burned doing the Pepsi commercial. All I did last night was watch news coverage in disbelief.

The music world has really lost a legend.

I want to get pretty for my job search

I’m looking for a new job. Mainly because I’m ready to buy a house or condo. I feel like I’ve been a renter for way too long. I know that I want to move within the next few months but I want to start saving for my down payment too. So a new job is really a necessity for me.

I need to go buy a new suit for my interview. My old one is too trendy for a serious interview. I will probably buy a pair of glasses to wear during the interview. They won’t be prescription they will be just for show. I may even spring for a trip to a Plano Cosmetic Dentist to get my teeth looked at. Having a whiter smile surely couldn’t hurt me.

I’m pretty much going all out on this job search. I’m serious about wanting both a new job and more money.

I want to be more active on the internet

Not by more blogging though. I have several and it’s hard keeping up with all of them. What I am thinking of doing is joining either Facebook and/or Twitter. I do have a Twitter account but I haven’t used it except once. I’m still not sure exactly how it works. I haven’t joined Facebook but everyone swears by it.

I think I’m just using this as an excuse to get a smart phone with internet access. It still should be fun though since I like being on the internet anyway.

I can’t believe how tired I am

I’m pretty exhausted really. Last night I could not sleep at all. I went to bed around 11:30pm which is early for me. I tossed and turned all night long. I finally fell asleep around 5am which left me with an hour and a half to sleep. All I did today was look at the clock and wish it was time to go home.

I did try to take a nap when I got home but I couldn’t fall asleep. I think it was because of all of the light outside. Hopefully that means I’ll sleep soundly tonight. I hope so because I sure need it.

I get to leave early today

It’s that Friday again! I leave one hour early and I can’t wait. This has been a really long and stressful week. It seems like nothing I do can make the time go by faster. Not talking to my friends, looking up Las Vegas hotels on the internet, or even playing games. Well they’re not games really, they’re more like sweepstakes. I hardly ever win while I’m at work but I do win every so often which is cool.

Only 45 more minutes to go. Then it’s the weekend baby!

Joke of the week

A teenage granddaughter comes downstairs for her date with this
> see-through blouse on and no bra. Her grandmother just pitched a fit,
> telling her not to dare go out like that!
>
> The teenager tells her ‘Loosen up Grams. These are modern times. You
> gotta let your rose buds show!’ and out she goes.
>
> The next day the teenager comes down stairs, and the grandmother is
> sitting there with no top on. The teenager wants to die. She explains
> to her grandmother that she has friends coming over and that it is just
> not appropriate…
>
> The grandmother says, ‘Loosen up, Sweetie. If you can show off your
> rose buds, then I can display my hanging baskets.

It poured down raining last night

I had a headache when I got home from work last night so I laid down to take a nap. As I drifted off to sleep I heard all of these rumbling noises but I didn’t pay it any attention. I woke up around 7pm and it was pouring down raining. I fell back to sleep and woke up again around 9pm and it had finally slowed down to a steady rain.

I turned on the tv and found out that it started raining around 5:15 (just after I got home) and it poured down raining until almost 9pm. Streets were flooded all over the city. They showed people who had their cars parked on the street where the water came all the way up to the drivers side door. I know there are going to be a lot of insurance claims this week.

Some of my neighbors lost their power but my apartment building didn’t. It wasn’t like I was using any power though. It’s a good thing those diet pills that I take suppress my appetite or I would have been in trouble because there was no way I was going in the kitchen and trying to cook.

The weather is confused. It’s supposed to be April showers. I don’t remember anything about June downpours!

I need help with posting pictures

I can blog all day long. I can figure out how to add a small picture or just a banner link. But if I want a regular-sized picture, I can’t figure out how to get it to look right. I posted 2 pictures the other day that went all the way over into my sidebar and messed up the title for the post under it. I spend all day surfing the net looking for life insurance quotes and playing games, so I guess I should look into how to properly crop and edit photos.

Maybe then I’ll post more pictures with my posts. I have to admit that I like the way the pictures balance out the posts.

I did my good deed for the day

Of course I have a ulterior motive behind my good deed though. If I take canned goods to my local casino, they will give me $5 to play with. 5 cans is the maximum for $25 to play on. The canned goods are for the local food bank. Even though people aren’t losing jobs here as much as they are in other places, people are still affected. I used the barcode scanners at my local grocery store to pay for the cans. Now I’m on my way to try and win a few extra dollars.

I guess I’m testing out that no good deed goes rewarded theory. I just hope it’s right.

Congrats to the LA Lakers!

Congrats go out to the Black Mamba and Company for winning the NBA Championship! I’m not a fan of the NBA but ya gotta give credit where credit is due.
