Undies
Little Susie goes home from school and tells her mum that the boys keep asking her to do cartwheels because she’s very good at them.
Mum said : ” YOU should say NO - they only want to look at your undies”.
Susie said: ” I know they do, that’s why I hide them in my backpack”!!
I turned on the radio this morning and I was so happy to hear regular music again. Two of our local stations went to an all Christmas format and it was getting to be a bit much. One station started the beginning of November and the other station started the day after Thanksgiving. One is a oldies station and the other is a 80’s 90’s and today’s music station.
Considering the fact that there is no R&B station locally and it can be a real drag. There are only 3 good stations and 3 mediocre ones. Then subtract 2 of the mediocre ones and it’s slim pickings in these parts. The most exciting thing on the radio some days was a advertisement for Toto toilets. You know it’s bad when the best thing on the radio is the commercials.
Now if we could only get a R&B station, everything would be perfect.
Yesterday I hurt my back when I lifted something wrong. I didn’t lift from the knees and that’s what caused the strain. I thought my back would feel better today but it doesn’t. I took some ibuprofen before I came to work but it’s worn off by now. I just want to go home and lie down for a while. I don’t even want to surf the internet. No looking for diet pill reviews or anything else. I didn’t even do my normal sweepstakes entries for the day.
I’m kinda on cruise control until I get home tonight. Then it’s lights out until I come to work tomorrow.
I was doing laundry and I lifted the basket too fast. My back has been hurting ever since. I lifted straight up instead of lifting from my knees. The basket was pretty full but I didn’t think it was very heavy. I guess I was wrong. It even hurts sitting here surfing the internet. I’m not looking for anthing too serious. I’ve searched for a motorcycle accident lawyer and I looked for new insurance. It’s uncomfortable sitting up so I think I may go lie down for a while.
Hopefully my back will stop hurting by tomorrow. The chair that I sit in at work isn’t the best and I know it will aggravate any pain that I may have.
I just got back from spending the holidays with my family. It is a long drive both ways. Usually I don’t do too much during the time I’m there because I’m always tired. Right now I have to get ready for work tomorrow. The problem is that I don’t have any clean clothes.
I did bring one clean outfit back with me but my mom chain smokes so the pants need to be washed. I started to put the clothes in a shrink tube so it wouldn’t get smoky but I forgot before I left home. There is someone in the laundry room right now so I can’t wash tonight. I have no idea what I’m going to wear tomorrow.
I wish I could take the day off but no suck luck.
I’m never in the Christmas spirit. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t have kids or that my family lives so far away or what. I do know that I’ve never been into Christmas. It just seems like a big fussy day and I hate fuss. It just seems like the holidays are so commercialized and it just seems like a big gift grab.
Maybe I’ll be more excited come Friday. But if I don’t go home to visit my mom, it will be just another day at least for me.
We wear business casual clothes at work. There are times that we are allowed to wear jeans though. It’s usually every Friday. Well we’re allowed to wear jeans from Christmas Eve through New Years Day. However when we were in our weekly staff meeting, we were told that we could wear jeans the week of Christmas, which is this week. Unfortunately, our manager told us the wrong week so we showed up to work with jeans while everyone else was dressed up.
Thankfully they didn’t ask us to change. You had better believe that my manager sent out a blast email letting us know the correct dates. Oops my bad!
No it wasn’t me but it seemed to be every other person who was in the store. I really didn’t have to go to the store today but I didn’t want to put it off until this weekend. I also had some money come in finally and I did my shopping early.
We had some snow this past weekend. It was only 4″, nothing like the rest of the area that got over a foot of snow. I guess that was in the backs of peoples minds so they decided to stock up. The lines were ridiculously long. Some people couldn’t work the barcode scanner in the store so we had to wait while they got assistance which backed all of the lines up. Of course once I was next in line, a new line opened up right next to me.
I think next month I’ll go on a huge stock up trip so I won’t have to deal with the people who panic over a little snow.
It’s only been 2 days since the check was mailed but since it’s semi-local I may have it today. I would like to take it to the bank tomorrow but my mailman runs late on Saturday so I would have to hold it until Monday.
Besides, I love going to the branch on Saturday. Well not love it but they try to make it a fun experience on the weekend. They give away promotional items in addition to having light snacks and drinks. The entire office seems more relaxed as well which makes for a more pleasant trip.
I’ll cross my fingers that the check is in my mailbox when I get home.
I talked to my friend last night and she’s finally going back to school. All I can say is it’s about time! We’ve been trying to convince her to go back to school for several years but she’s always come up with an excuse or treated something like it was more important than school. She finally saw the light that she’s not going to get anywhere at her job without getting some kind of degree. And it’s not like she makes a lot of money so she really needs to finish school.
Now we have to help her get through it. I’m just glad that I’m done with school right now because I couldn’t do my work and help her with hers too.
