This weather is crazy

Yeah it’s snowing again. But that’s not the crazy part. Nope almost 3 feet of snow and still going and there is something else even crazier going on. It’s snowing almost everywhere in the U.S., even in Texas. One of our off sites almost had to close down because they had a foot of snow in Dallas of all places. I guess if you had an appointment with a Plano dentist then you had to cancel because you couldn’t get there. In this area we’re used to snow but Dallas shuts down with 2 or 3 inches so I could just imagine how much havoc a whole foot of snow caused.

This weather is really crazy.

Joke of the week

This blonde goes into a restaurant and notices there’s a peel and win sticker on her coffee cup. So, she peels it off and starts screaming, “I’ve won a motor home! I’ve
won a motor home!”
The waitress says, “That’s impossible. The biggest prize is a mini-van.”

But the blonde keeps screaming, “I’ve won a motor home! I’ve won a motor home.”

Finally, the manager comes over and says, “Ma’am, I’m sorry, but you’re mistaken. You couldn’t possibly have won a motor home, because we didn’t have that as a prize!”

The blonde says, “No, it’s not a mistake. I’ve won a motor home!”

So, she hands the ticket to the manager and he reads…
WIN A BAGEL!

Quote of the day

“Television is the first truly democratic culture - the first culture available to everybody and entirely governed by what the people want. The most terrifying thing is what people do want.”
- Clive Barnes

Summer concert season is already here

Wow I’m really surprised. I know that some concerts generally sell out but in the past week, 2 different summer concerts have gone on sale. One concert is scheduled for mid-July and the other is early August. I love summer so it’s not a problem for me and it gives me something to look forward to. It’s just not something I had expected to start seeing yet. I wouldn’t think summer tickets would go on sale before early April but it looks like I’m way off.

Not that I mind. The sooner summer gets here the better for me.

Spring training is finally here!

Yay! I love when spring training starts because that means spring isn’t far behind and summer is just around the corner. I hate winter and snow, of which we have an abundance this year, so the closer it gets to spring the happier I get.

Now I have to watch and see what the upcoming season looks like. I may even shadow my friend’s fantasy baseball game. I’m still not skilled enough to have my own team. I’m just happy it’s almost time for the real thing.

I may have to move

No not my house, my desk at work. The boss has decided that everyone needs to mingle more so we may have to move around. The people from the company we bought sit on one side of the floor and we sit on the other. She’s going to mix us all in together. I won’t have to worry about taking my fat burner pills that day because I’m sure I’m going to get a mean workout. I have a ton of files that I’ll have to move. Not to mention I have 3 boxes of files under my desk.

I really hope I get to stay where I’m at and not have to move at all.

Trudging out in the snow

We’re supposed to get another 3″ of snow today and I have to go out in it. I need to mail something that could technically wait but it really shouldn’t. It’s a item that I sold on eBay. It’s not a big deal that I hurry and get it out but on the other hand the winner shouldn’t have to wait extra days because I don’t feel like walking to the post office. I’ll just suck it up and mail it today. If it were just a fast weight loss program brochure or something I would wait but it’s a coffeemaker so it’s something I’m sure the person will be using right away.

Hopefully the post office will be pretty empty and this will be a quick trip.

I’m done with in store games

You know like McDonald’s and Subway games. This time it was the game at Rite Aid where you save the pieces to get prizes. Of course I kept getting the same game pieces. However this time, unlike the last few times, I really only went to the store if the item I wanted was on sale and I really needed it. No more reading a thermotox review and then going and buying it on the spur of the moment. The game lasts for one more week but I’m done with it. If I happen to go in there to buy something fine, but I won’t go out of my way.

Now I just have to apply that logic to the rest of those games that I never win.

The day after a holiday is pretty rough

I’m always so tired when I have a extra day off. I do get to relax but I think sometimes I relax too much and I’m even more tired the next day.  I had to find the best night creams to soothe my tired face once I started relaxing. I know what the problem is that’s causing me so much grief. I’m tired and I mean really tired. I’m stressed out trying to find a new job because I need more money. I also haven’t had a real vacation in 3 years.

I need to decompress and soon. Maybe I’ll plan a weekend getaway or a trip to the spa or something. Anything to help me relax.

I love days off from work

Today is one of those holidays that doesn’t really feel like a holiday. It’s President’s Day so there is no mail or trash pickup and banks are closed but almost everything else is operating like normal. So I’m just laying low in the house watching tv. I wish I had a Amish fireplace to curl up in front of with a glass of cocoa cause it’s pretty cold outside. I’ll just wrap up in a blanket like I usually do.

I’m just going to try and enjoy the rest of my day.
