I need to run to get my new shoes

Which is ironic. I have to run to get running shoes! Anyway, the company shipped them UPS.

I get home at 7:30pm so I generally miss the delivery. If there is no one there to sign for the package, I have to run over to the service center to pick it up. They close at 8pm so I have to leave work a little earlier than usual today to be able to make it on time. Last week I got there at 8:05pm and the lights were out and everyone was gone. I don’t blame them though because once my day is done, I’m out.

I do need to pick up some mailing supplies like stamps, tyvek envelopes, and boxes for my Ebay adventures. However, I always have trouble with UPS so I’m opposed to spending any more money in there than I have to. There’s always somewhere else to shop. Believe me I know!

Thank goodness this week is over

By the time I get to work on Friday, the week is over for me. I pretty much just coast along on Friday until it’s time to go home. This week has been a hot mess all around and I’m glad it’s over. There was the job fiasco but there were a few other things that happened along the way that I had to deal with.

I hope next week is better because I surely can’t deal with another week like this.

I’m just being a hater today

I found out who got the job that I really wanted. Her interview sucked, her outfit was not appropriate and she rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth at the interviewer. Wow! And she got the job. She does have a degree and is working on a master’s but has no experience. I have the experience and a degree. I guess she somehow out-interviewed me.

Of course, it could have also been the see through shirt she had on.

I’m good with snow for the rest of the year

I don’t like snow at all. I got caught in it the other night while I was coming home and it was a mess. I will drive when it’s less than 3 or 4″ of snow but once it’s more than that my car doesn’t move.

I really felt for our maintenance man because he has to come out and clean our driveway and sidewalks no matter how cold it is outside. I know he can’t wait until spring so he can set up the composter and not have to worry about freezing snow or frost outside.

To be truthful, I can’t wait for spring either. If it were up to me we would skip winter all together.

I don’t even feel like blogging today

It’s just not a good day. It’s raining and gloomy and I’m still stinging from not getting either job that I had applied for. I am happy that I at least have a job but the one I have majorly sucks. I’m sitting here stagnating and stewing because I hate it so bad.

Ughhhhhhhh!

So discouraged!

This sucks! I heard back from both jobs this week and I didn’t get either one of them. The one that I really wanted had a lot of good candidates and the manager told the recruiter that it was a really hard decision. That doesn’t make it any better for me. I’m still stuck in this sucky job with no room to room or grow.

I don’t know anything about the other job except that I didn’t get that one either. I did talk to a recruiter and she’s going to look at my resume. I’m not hopeful though. I just want out of this department that I’m in.

Ughhhhhh.

My no hot water fiasco

Ughhh it was terrible. Last Wednesday I got home from work and there was a note on my front door that the hot water tank in our building had burst. The building manager let me know that it would be fixed asap, the next morning. So I went into the house and washed my hands. The water was already freezing! I took a glass from the tap to drink and compared it with the temperature of a glass from the fridge and they were just about the same.

So Thursday morning I had to take a ice cold shower, which was no fun. My hair was a mess because I had been wearing it curly and had planned on washing it Thursday morning. Instead I had to brush it back with a lot of gel. By the time I got home Thursday night, the hot water was back to normal. On Friday I took a nice long shower. So much so that by the time I got out, the water was running lukewarm. Oops for my neighbors that get dressed after I do.

Now that we have a new hot water tank, hopefully this won’t happen again. Especially in winter.

I want a new pair of boots

Or shoes it doesn’t matter to me. I went to buy a pair of black boots but they didn’t have the ones I liked in my size so I bought a really light colored pair. They’re made to be worn in the rain or snow but they’ll get dirty really fast so I don’t plan on wearing them often. With the wet weather we’ve been having lately, I can already tell I won’t be wearing them much.

I could just nix the whole boot idea and get a new pair of tennis shoes. I saw a really cute pair of reebok pumps tennis shoes that would match perfectly with a few different tops that I already own. The shoes are all white but most of my clothes are blue or grey because they’re my favorite colors.

Of course there is always the option to buy both. Off to shop I go.

I have another month before I find out about the job

Boooo!!!! I’m starting to think that the manager was just trying to be polite in saying that we didn’t get the job. So basically don’t call us, we’ll get in contact with you.

My coworker had an interview with the same manager yesterday. She said her interview was about an hour. He pretty much asked her the same questions but her first question was about her grade level. The job we’re applying for is 3 grades higher than our current grade, however it’s only 1 actual grade higher as far as pay. Most people just see that you’re jumping grades and automatically think money.

At the end of the interview, he told her that they were looking to make a decision in mid-February. They had told me late January or early February. Meanwhile, the interview takes so long that I’m sure they’re only interviewing one person per day which means they will interview through next week. After that they’ll probably bring people back for second interviews.

This whole process is maddening. Just let me know either way so we can all move forward.

I’m going to keep it moving

I talked to a coworker about my dilemma and I’ve decided to keep looking for new jobs. I’m going to still post for new areas and keep my eyes open for any open positions.

I had thought about waiting to hear from the two jobs that I’m in contention for but I’ll be pretty upset if I wait around and let new jobs pass me by. Especially since I’ve already been looking for so long and I don’t want to go to the new building that we’re going to have to move to.

Hopefully I’ll find something within the next 60 days. If not, I’ll have no choice but to look at jobs outside of my current company.
