The Philadelphia Phillies are 2008 World Series Champs!

Ξ October 30th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Phillies, sports, baseball |

Wow! I don’t know if I thought they could really pull it off. I knew they were good but let’s face it, they were playing a damn good Rays team. I just knew the Rays would battle back like they did against the Red Sox. Imagine my surprise when the Phils totally shut them down. Evan Longoria and Carlos Pena were almost non-existant in their games they were so ineffective.

You just know the Rays will be back next year. The core of their team remains intact and they’re a pretty young unit. I think the average age of their starting pitchers is 26. I honestly don’t think it will be that long before we see them back in a series. And you just know that they’ll win one eventually. Sorry to say I’m glad it wasn’t this year. 28 years is a long time for a city to wait for a championship. I’m glad the city of Brotherly Love finally gets to celebrate one again. Maybe they’ll even take it easy on Santa this year!

Congrats to the Philadelphia Phillies!!!!!!!!

Phillies lead the World Series 3-1

Ξ October 27th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ I love Ryan Howard, Phillies, sports, baseball |

Wow I can’t believe this. The Phillies are leading the Rays 3 games to 1. Ryan Howard unleashed 2 monster home runs. One for 3 run and 1 for 2 runs. Even the pitcher Joe Blanton had a homer! Game 5 is in Philly and Cole Hamels will be on the mound. Things are looking good for the Phils.

I can’t believe I have class tomorrow night and I’ll miss the beginning of the game. I probably won’t get home until the 3rd or 4th inning. Sometimes school sucks!

Go Phillies!!!!!!!!!!!

Phillies vs the Rays World Series

Ξ October 20th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Phillies, sports, baseball |

Bleh I’m not really excited about this World Series. I love the Phillies and that’s who I’ll be rooting for but still. I could care less about the Rays. I don’t care if they win at all. Magical season yadda yadda yadda big bull-hoey. I really wanted the Red Sox to win and play the Phillies.

I think this will be a boring series. I can’t wait to see the ratings for it.

The Red Sox had me on the edge of my seat

Ξ October 19th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, baseball |

Oh my goodness, that game was so good. I was going crazy waiting for the game to be over. I just keep chanting, “don’t give up the long-ball” and “no hits - keep ‘em off base”. I know my neighbors probably thought I was crazy since I live by myself but whatever.

Now if you don’t read my blog, I’m not exactly a Red Sox fan. However, that’s the AL team that I’m rooting for this year. Nothing against the Rays, but I just don’t want to see them in the World Series. Not this year anyway.

Game 7 is tomorrow night and I can’t wait. I just have to make sure I’ve written my paper so nothing interrupts my game watching experience.

The Phillies are going to the World Series

Ξ October 16th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Phillies, sports, baseball |

Wow!!!!!! I’m so happy for all of the die hard Phillies fans. It’s been a long time coming. These guys really battled for it too. Cole Hamels is the NLCS MVP.

Now it’s just a wait and see if they play the Rays or the Red Sox. I don’t care which team they play, I gotta go with the Phils!

GO Phillies!!!!!!!!!!

And no I’m not a homer. I’ve always been a Phillies fan. The Yankees are my favorite team but I love the Phillies as well and I always have.

Gack I can’t go against the Phillies

Ξ October 9th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Phillies, sports, baseball |

I said in another post that I was rooting for Manny and the Dodgers to meet the Red Sox in the World Series.

I take it back. I can’t do it. I can’t root against the Phillies. I just can’t. I’ve been waiting for this for years and it’s finally here and I say I’m pulling for the Dodgers. That’s just craziness.

I’m a Phillies fan and I have to root for them. Maybe it’s in the water or something. Maybe I was brain-washed as a child but I can’t root against them. Not at this time of year.

Go Phillies!!!!!!!!!

The divisional series are set

Ξ October 7th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, baseball |

The Phillies vs the Dodgers was set on Sunday. Yesterday the Rays vs the Red Sox series was set.

In the AL I’m rooting for the Red Sox. I know the Rays are the feel good story and they are a good team. However, Jason Bay finally knows what it’s like to play for a winning team and I would love to see him win a ring.

The NL is not so easy for me. I’m a Phillies fan and that’s who I should be rooting for. But I would love to see the potential for a Manny/Dodgers vs the Red Sox World Series. With all that Joe Torre has been through I would also love to see him back in the big game. Wouldn’t that just irk old Hankenstein to death?!?!?

It’s a hard choice, but for me it’s the Dodgers vs the Red Sox in the World Series.

I should have stayed up for 10 more minutes

Ξ October 6th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, baseball |

I went to sleep at the bottom of the 11th inning of the Red Sox-Angels game. It was tied 4-4 at the time. I was too tired to stay up.

Of course the Angels scored a run in the top of the 12th inning and won the game. I’m not happy about that because I’m actually rooting for the Red Sox this year.

But it was only game 3 so the Sox have 2 more games to close out the series.

I don’t think this game will ever end

Ξ October 6th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, baseball |

First the Steelers game seemed to go on forever. Now I’m watching the end of the Red Sox-Angels game. I don’t think this game would ever end. I love a good baseball game - I really do. I’m just tired and ready to go to bed. It got to the point that I was hoping that anyone would just go ahead and win. I don’t even care what team it was.

Now in the morning, I’ll be super tired and cranky at work because I stayed up to watch the end of the game. I’ll have to drink a lot of soda to wake up and give myself some caffeine. I don’t want to stumble around the office bumping into the office furniture like I’ve had something to drink that early in the morning. I may stop and grab a cup of coffee while I’m at it.

Oh man I just thought of the bags that I”m going to have! Not pretty.

Just a quick comment

Ξ September 24th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, Yankees, baseball |

This will be really quick. I’m really surprised at the number of “sports-bloggers” who haven’t said a peep about the last game at Yankee stadium. I know a lot of people are Yankee-haters so I’m not surprised about them. I am surprised by a blog that I read that usually takes the opportunity to make fun of anyone in the sports world, yet didn’t say anything about the 18 people arrested for theft.

I guess the love-hate relationship runs deeper than I thought.
