Since this Thursday is Christmas and the following Thursday is New Years Day, there won’t be a joke of the week on either day. I probably won’t do my Friday Five posts either. I’ll still try to have some posts done but just not those particular ones.
I haven’t really been blogging lately. I skipped my joke and the Friday Five this week. I’ll pick them back up next week hopefully with more posts.
I just found out that my mom has been sick so I really haven’t had much to say. She’s really doing a lot better so that won’t be on my mind and I can get back to normal. Believe me when I say that every aspect of my life has been put on the back-burner.
I wasn’t planning on going home for the holidays but I’m definitely looking into it now.
I written maybe 4 posts over the past 7 days which is very unusual for me. I usually write something at least once a day. I’m always online even if it’s only to use Google to look up things like sports scores, a Mesothelioma lawyer, or financial quotes. Well for the past few weeks I haven’t even wanted to see a financial quote because they’re so depressing. I have been online though.
I’ve just been so busy with school that I really haven’t had time to blog. I had a book to read and a paper to write. Then for today I had another set of questions that I had to prepare for our in-class guest speaker. This week I’ll have to study for my mid-term which is next Monday.
I also haven’t been feeling very well lately. I’m pretty run down and tired all of the time. Even though I’ve been writing about baseball and football, I haven’t been watching it like I usually do. I’ll glance at the score every so often but I’m not engrossed in the game.
Hopefully I be back to normal within the next day or two.
I think I need a newly designed theme for this blog. This theme has glitches that I don’t like. My spell-checker has never worked and my sidebars don’t support some of the things that I want to put on there.
The worse part is that I keep getting internal errors on my theme. Sometimes it’s with a post. Other times it’s just logging into my account in general. I even get the error when I try to delete some of the spam that I get daily.
I really hate changing themes though. It’s a huge hassle to download and reapply all of my extras. I also really love this theme and I won’t change me theme in haste. This theme seems to match my blog name perfectly.
I’m sure it will be a challenge finding another theme this great.
I’m usually so bored at work that all I do is surf the internet for the part of the day. I have work to do but in-between the work I look around. Of course, all of the good sites are blocked.
All sites like MySpace and FaceBook are automatically blocked. You can’t even access some blogs. Especially if they’re Blogger or TypePad. It gets annoying what I can and can’t look at. I can surf for auto insurance but I can’t read financial news. It’s not like I can complain though. I should be working and not surfing. But when there’s nothing to do I can’t find any good sites to read.
I just wish my job wasn’t so boring that I had time to surf. Then again I shouldn’t complain. I could be so busy that I didn’t get my work done everyday. Which wouldn’t be a good thing either. Heck I’m just happy that I have a job!
There are several blogs that I didn’t expect to be updated. It’s the weekend and I realize that people have other things to do. But one of the blogs is a sports blog. Ummm, all kinds of sports are on this weekend. The baseball playoffs are coming into view. You have NCAA and NFL football. NASCAR, golf and a bunch of other stuff if you’re into it.
I guess it’s time to branch out and read some new blogs. And drop some of the others. They’re really disappointing as of late. Especially since they only seem to be updating twice a week, if that.
Maybe I should just stick with ESPN. I know they’ve updated their pages.
I didn’t delete it but I have posted it onto my blog yet. I figure if it’s spam, the person will come back and post a bunch of comments. I felt that if I waited a week or two before publishing it, the person may forget about it and not come back with any comments. As long as they’re not trying to get me to buy diet pills, p0rn or drugs, the comment can stay.
But if they come back and leave any crazy comments, I’ll delete them so fast it will make their head spin.
Sometimes it’s easy to tell if something is spam. It’s just obvious links to drug sites, p0rn or stuff like that. Other times it’s not so easy to tell though.
I have a innocuous looking comment on my other blog. It has a helpful suggestion as well. The suggestion was something that I’ve been thinking about (but hadn’t verbalized on my blog) for a while. But upon closer inspection, the link was to a email address and the ip address led to domain registrar.
I think the person wants their first comment approved so that they can come back and spam me later. Those subsequent comments would be auto approved on my blog. Unless I’m extra vigilant about looking at my dashboard (which I usually am), the comments would get through.

Do you think you see traffic from it? I have the widget on this blog. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I’ve seen my blog on other peoples widgets. I don’t know how it’s determined what headlines show up, but I don’t see any benefits to having it. I do know that they give you credits and according to how many credits you have is how often your blog gets seen.
Well I have to be near the bottom of the heap. I’ll probably keep the widget for another month or two. If my stats don’t pick up then I’ll remove it. At this point, it just seems to be taking up real-estate on my sidebar.
