The internet is much funnier with sound

I had my sound on yesterday while I was surfing because I was listening to music. As I went to certain websites, I noticed that they had sound. Since I usually have my speakers on mute, I thought it was funny hearing all of the noises. Mostly I heard a buzzing sound like when you get the wrong answer on the Family Feud. I also heard a lot of clicking as pages loaded. That sound was pretty annoying though. I’m sure if I had gone looking for Acid cigars I would have heard the crackling sounds of smoke or even the sound of someone puffing on a cigar. There were a few other sounds that I heard but I can’t remember them all.

I figure I’ll turn the sound on every once in a while to get some entertainment as I’m playing around on different websites.

I need to write posts as soon as I get an idea

I had several ideas for pretty decent posts over the weekend. I figured I would wait until today and write them up really fast. Only problem is that I totally forgot what I wanted to write about. I don’t have the faintest idea as to what the subjects were. It’s also Monday and I’m totally brain dead so this will be short and sweet.

I hope to have my mojo back tomorrow cause today it’s totally gone.

I knew there was something wrong with my template

My blog host contacted me to ask if they could do a diagnostic on my blog. Sure enough there was something wrong with a piece of code that I had installed. They removed the threat and everything should be good. I do notice that my code page and my buttons to add links, bold and add bullet points are back.

I knew it wasn’t just my imagination. Hopefully everthing is now back to normal.

Something is wrong with my blog templates

It’s on both of my blogs too. I just noticed it the other day and I have no idea how to fix it. I may have to go and re-update my templates but I want to keep the same ones that I have now. It took me long enough to find these and I don’t want to go through the drama of looking through hundreds of templates again.

Now I can’t perform certain functions on my posts. I can’t bold or highlight anything. It also doesn’t give me the option to link to other posts or add links. I have to go old-school and add everything by hand. Having the options on the tool bar to just click and update things made me lazy!

I guess I’ll add things through trial and error and hope I get them right.

Who in the world is following me?

I have another blog that I write on. Actually I have several that I don’t really keep up with. I consider two of them my junk blogs because I only update them once or twice a month. I just use them to try and keep my writing skills sharp.

They’re not even particulary good blogs either. I don’t talk about anything serious on them either. Nothing like the mesothelioma survival rate or even anything interesting. I mostly talk about sports and watching tv. Like I said nothing spectacular.

I was really surprised to find out that I had 4 people following one of those blogs. I bet they’re spammers that are leaving some of those ridiculous comments on that blog. Some people will do anything for a link back I guess.

That’s the only reason I can think that they’re following me. I mean it can’t be because they’re interested in what I have to say could it?

A lotta posts and a lotta links

I write a lot of posts and most of them have links in them. The only problem is that they’re all outgoing links. Google looks at too many outgoing links as a spam site so I have to do something to correct that. What I’ve decided to do is start deep-linking within my own blog. If I have 5 posts with links, then I’ll have 1 post with a deep link back to my own site.

I may link to a post talking about the Yankees, Phillies, my neighbors or anything else that I can think of. I may even link back to a old post about mailing a bill late since that seems to be the post I get the most hits on. I have no idea why the bots pick that post but they do.

Anything to keep my site in the search engines and stop it from being considered spam.

I’m on a internet ban at work

My boss has put the entire office on a internet ban. They are looking at a few people very closely, especially me. Right now they’re lurking about trying to see what I’m doing. I also think they have a few of my coworkers spying on us. It’s so ridiculous though. If I’m on my lunch or caught up on my work then what’s the problem?

I could see if I wasn’t doing my work or making too many mistakes because I was more concerned with the internet, but that’s not the case. This place is beyond juvenile.

I wonder what spammers actually get

From the spam comments I mean. I thought it was just backlinks to their sites, which can be very important if you’re trying to make money. Those backlinks can increase the visibility of your site and also raise the page rank. The rank of your site determines how much people are willing to pay you for those links. If you need to sell anti wrinkle cream, shoes or furniture, you would pay more for a site that highly ranked and even more for a site that is relevant to yours.

Otherwise I don’t see what they get out of spamming others. Unless they just a kick out of annoying other people.

I can’t let spammers upset me

It’s almost funny because I really almost let one of them get to me. The comment said something like my opinion was wrong and I didn’t know what I was talking about. When I first read the comment I got aggitated. Then I looked to see what post it was on and whether or not the comment was relevant. It wasn’t. They commented on a really old post about me mailing a bill late. Since the comment was geared towards quick trim users, it wasn’t even remotely related to my post. I just deleted it and kept moving.

It’s really funny how some of the spam comments almost get through. I just have to keep watching them and make sure I only approve real comments. No free back links for you Mr. Spammer Guy.

No joke this week either

My computer is totally acting up and I can’t access my emails which is where all of my jokes are. I had some jokes on my flash drive but I’ve already used all of them. Maybe by next week I’ll be able to post the jokes back on schedule.

When I don’t post on my regular schedule, it just messes my whole week up.
