Insane Random Ramblings

That really annoys me. It seems like some people can always get their hands on spare cash and within days have nothing to show for it. One of my friends is like this. She can always get extra cash but she just wastes it. Last year she got over $2k from stock options from the company she works for. She got the money in 3 installments because it was 3 different disbursements.

With the first two she went and got tattoos that was almost half of the disbursement. Then she paid a few bills and wasted the rest of the money going out with her friends. She also had to pay back more than one cash advance that she had taken out. Then she complains because she wants to buy a computer and go back to school. Needless to say she’s not in school this semester because she couldn’t afford $500 for 2 classes. Major eyeroll there.

I shudder to think how she’s going to waste her tax refund. I wish I could get my hands on half the cash she does.

Actually the PC term we use is WinterFest. Either way, I’m not participating in the event at all. I hate it here so much. My coworkers, supervisor, manager, just everyone is getting on my nerves. I’ve been sitting at my desk trying to be quiet for the last few days. It seems like the more I try to stay quiet, the more people want to talk to me. It’s pretty annoying.

My friend is avoiding me. I emailed him today and he hasn’t emailed me back yet. We usually talk all day long. I know why he’s avoiding me though. I have been pretty witchy towards him. There is a reason though. I’ll just say that there are outside influences on our friendship that’s making it hard to maintain.

Still though, he’s acting shady towards me and there’s no need for that. I mean really if you say you’re gonna do something, then do it! Don’t just leave me hanging and then the next time we talk you act like nothing happened.

Sigh, tomorrow is another day. I just hope it’s a better one at that.

I’ve decided not to drive to NJ during the Christmas weekend and I’ll fly instead. One reason is because I tend to have anxiety attacks when I’m behind the wheel too long. It usually only happens at night. Since it gets dark early (before 6pm), I would be driving in the dark. I could leave home early in the morning but it’s on Christmas day and I don’t want to leave before noon.

I’ve put off getting my ticket though because I have some money coming in on Friday that I plan on purchasing my ticket with. The other reason is because I was hoping that my neighbor would decide to go visit his family and then he would drive. We could still take my car but he would do all driving and I would pay the gas and tolls. But it looks like he won’t be going so I have to fly. 

I was even gonna let him take my car for the weekend to go visit his family in North Jersey and to go tripping around NYC. But you know men, they just won’t cooperate.

One of the reasons I’ve never lived with anybody is to avoid drama. I’m emailing a friend of mine now about some of the drama that he’s going through. He doesn’t want to be with his girlfriend anymore. He’s also looking for a job in another state. But he hadn’t told her yet.

Well, she found out and the proverbial shit hit the fan. Now she’s ready to kick him out (because he lives in her apartment) and she gave him a definite date. She never even saw it coming. She gave him the song and dance about how she’s a good catch (she’s really not) and he should want to be with her. Of course I’m on his side. He’s my friend, she’s not.

This just reinforced my notion that I don’t want to live with anybody. Things can get too messy.

Happy birthday oldster. So what you’re still younger than me, today you enter into the age of old.

I wrote yesterday about how some of the cars in my neighborhood had been vandalized. We thought they broke a couple of windows and egged cars and that was it. It was worse than that. It looked like they took baseball bats to some of the cars. They had smashed in windows, smashed bumpers and put dents all over their cars. Some of those cars will need serious dent repair to get their cars back in shape.

It also looked like some of the cars had been keyed. That’s where you take your keys and just scrape along the side of a car. All of this without provocation or anything. I did see on the local news where it was happening a week or so ago in another neighborhood. But it’s never happened in our area and I’ve lived there for 6 years.

I hate to say I’m glad I don’t have a car right now but I really am.

It was nice. It was small but not too small. There were close to 80 people there. The ceremony was held in the couples garage. It’s a two car garage and it’s huge. They had all kinds of covering up, so if you just saw pictures you wouldn’t even know it was a garage.

They had the pool open, so after the ceremony lots of people jumped in the pool. I didn’t take a swimsuit so I just sat and watched everybody else. There was tons of food. They have a big family so left overs won’t be a problem. There was also a good amount of alcohol including a keg of beer. I didn’t know those things lasted so long. It was at least 6 hours later and people were still getting beer.

It did rain during the reception but that didn’t stop everyone from having a good time including me. I’m glad I went.

Today is my friend LaShonda’s birthday. I never forget it because of the date 07/17. She used to play that on the lottery and everytime someone mentions her name out of the blue, that number comes out.

I haven’t seen her in ages. I saw her about 4 months ago when we were coming home from work but I didn’t get to talk to her. I did email one of our mutual friends and told her to send along my birthday wishes.

Oh well, I tried. Anyway Happy Birthday Shonda!

Argh! My job has a volunteer opportunity where they give you 2 tickets to a game if you pass out flyers beforehand. I wanted to do it, but I wouldn’t have anyone to take to the game with me. Why, well none of my friends like baseball.  Not one.

I always say I need new friends, this is just another reason why.
