Insane Random Ramblings

I don’t even remember the post that I was going to write today. A commercial came on the radio and interrupted my entire thought process. It’s a Rent A Center commercial featuring Magic Johnson. He’s going on and on about how great it is to rent from them. He makes it seem like they’re the best thing since sliced bread.

I have no problem with people renting furniture. The feature does come in handy especially in a pinch. However, these commercials are targeted towards low income people and minorities. The type of people who rent long term and where these companies make their money. Most of the people who rent don’t have the resources to pay for furniture outright. And let’s not even pretend that they’re getting a good deal. Those payments are expensive! By the time you’ve rented for 3 or 4 months, you’ve basically paid for the item. And the majority of people keep the items way longer than that.

Sorry for the rant but I just can’t believe Magic would lend his voice to such nonsense. Then again I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. He’s just a shill out to make a quick buck like the rest of the celebrities.

I had another post all written out but then I saw the ads for his new movie. Of course “Madea” is the title character. I don’t have anything against TP but I remember a few years ago where he said that he was retiring the Madea character. He still hasn’t retired her.

I guess I’m really tired of the whole phase. It’s not even the whole drag thing either. I know he wants to send a good message but his movies are super preachy. They start to get on your nerves. But his tv shows are the worse. Most of the actors can’t act and it seems like they’re just trying to upstage each other when they’re not trying to profile for the camera.

I know he wants to make the shows seem real but the characters are stilted and it’s really insulting. I hate to say it but both of his shows come across more as a shuck n’ jive routine than real acting. I guess he wanted to portray middle class blacks but in my opinion he really missed the mark. Not every middle class black family are like the Huxtables and perfect (they’re actually upper middle but whatever), but they certainly don’t act like the people on his shows either.

I guess Tyler is on a paper chase and he’s gonna dress in drag until people get tired of it. It’s a shame really because to me he seems like a person who doesn’t stand behind his word.

One of my new coworkers had someone hit her truck. The guy pulled out of a lot and side-swiped her car. She was in the middle lane so I don’t understand how he went across a lane and into a second lane. She said he was driving a small car so he shouldn’t have hit her.

Nobody was hurt in the accident but she had to retain a truck accident lawyer because the guys insurance doesn’t want to pay. I guess he has a really crappy insurance company that’s notorious for not paying claims. Luckily she wasn’t at fault so she shouldn’t have a problem. She’s not even suing the guy for anything except car repairs. I don’t know why the company is dragging their feet.

Hopefully she gets everything resolved soon.

Man do they suck. You know the people that I’m talking about: the ones that come to the forum with the links to their sites in their signature then they comment on each and every subject on the forum. Is that bad? Yes it is.

Some of the comments make no sense. “I agree” to every single post. Or how about “Hey check out these commodity brokers here”,  on a forum about paying off debt. It makes no sense. Or my personal favorite, commenting on posts from over a year ago with no new information. Hey I realize everyone is new to forums so they may look at old messages to comment on and that’s cool. It’s the people who are just looking to get their links out there that are pitas.

Be honest, when you see those types of comments does that make you want to visit that persons’ site?

Or try to help them. Someone posted in a public forum that I frequent asking questions about the service. I pm’d them to give them some info that would help them out. They wrote back asking me “how I knew what I knew” and “where can I find the info”. No big deal I gave them links to several threads with answers to their questions.

The pm’d me again and changed the title of the mail to end in “blah blah”. Then they started going off asking me if I had actually read their blog, they have quality articles that are over 2 pages which is why they use a read more tag (a no-no at the site we were on) and that they don’t just post crappy 3 sentence entries.

Ummm wow. I just let it go. I don’t think my entries are crappy just because I keep my thoughts short and sweet. I could drone on and on but who wants to read that. One thing’s for certain, I will not try to help them anymore.

I try to do a good thing and look what happens.

Are you kidding me?!?!?! I finally get a day off to sleep in and my stupid neighbors are up at 7am doing construction work. I don’t know what the heck they were doing down there but it sounded like the had some kind of Ingersoll Rand air tools or something. They were banging and making all kinds of noise. Now I wouldn’t have cared if it was late in the day but 7am? That’s ridiculous.

I mean really, have some consideration for others.

I was browsing around on one of my favorite forums today. One of the regular contributors is the blog of the day. She has a very distinct write-up about herself on her blog. Someone was surfing on another persons blog. They have the exact same write-up practically word for word.

The only difference was the blog name and the city where they live. How do we know the 2nd person is the content thief? By the post date. It’s a relatively new post whereas the other post is way old.

It’s hard enough finding blog topics and articulating your thoughts. Then someone comes and steals your words. To make it worse, they both frequent the same forum!

Stupid kids. I’m assuming it’s kids and not adults. Somebody went through egging cars in the neighborhood. Now I understand the concept of Devil’s Night or whatever you call it, but that was back in October. What’s the reasoning now?

There is no reason. Some people are just idiots. They broke car windows and slashed a few tires. The only people that didn’t get hit were people that were using car covers, otherwise it was a mess. The worse part was that it happened late at night and people came out and discovered it in the morning just as they were getting ready to go to work.

Some people were just late for work but a few had to call off. This is costing people serious money. I just hope they find out who did it and prosecute them to the fullest.

I’m really mad. In our syllabus, it said that our homework assignments would be available online. Hmm, not this assignment. He gave it out in class. I didn’t go to class last week so I didn’t get the assignment. I just lost 30 points out of 500.

Yeah I know I should have gone to school. I’ve missed 2 classes all semester and he picks one of those 2 to give out the homework. He said I could come in today before 5pm and get the assignment and turn it in. Uhhh dude, I’m a non-traditional student. I work full time. I don’t even get off of work until 4:45pm.

I just pissed right now.

I have never used You Tube. Well, I have posted movie and/or music trailers on my blogs. But I haven’t posted videos of me or my friends that we’ve taken.

On todays newscast, they showed someone driving an ambulance with the sirens blaring. He also had the music blasting and was taking his hands off the wheel and dancing! He posted it on the internet and now he’s facing criminal charges and may get fired from his job.

They’ve also showed people attacking strangers at sporting events. Oh boy, ha ha that’s funny right? No, not really and these people are facing disciplinary action. Duh stop posting incriminating evidence on the web.
