Gack I can’t go against the Phillies

Ξ October 9th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Phillies, sports, baseball |

I said in another post that I was rooting for Manny and the Dodgers to meet the Red Sox in the World Series.

I take it back. I can’t do it. I can’t root against the Phillies. I just can’t. I’ve been waiting for this for years and it’s finally here and I say I’m pulling for the Dodgers. That’s just craziness.

I’m a Phillies fan and I have to root for them. Maybe it’s in the water or something. Maybe I was brain-washed as a child but I can’t root against them. Not at this time of year.

Go Phillies!!!!!!!!!

Please weather cooperate

I am really hoping the weather cooperates for us on Saturday but especially on Sunday. Saturday I want to go see the Pirates vs the Phillies here in Pittsburgh. I don’t have the tickets yet but I have a gift card that I bought back in March that I can use. If it rains I won’t go but I’m hoping it’s nice so I can go. This is the only time the Phillies come to Pittsburgh this year. They usually only come once a season. Last year their trip here was in August and I was on vacation.

Sunday we’re going to Cleveland to see the Indians vs the Yankees. Guess who I’m rooting for? We got those tickets the day they went on sale. I’ve been waiting for this day for what seems like forever. It’s supposed to rain on Sunday and I’m really hoping it doesn’t. If the game is rained out we might not be able to go to the new game, especially if it’s a weeknight. We would have to take half a day the day of the game and be tired the next day because we wouldn’t get home until after midnight.

If it rains and they have the game anyway, we’ll have to sit in the rain and that doesn’t sound appealing. I just hope the rain stays away.

Well the Phillies are out

I don’t know if I really expected them to move on. I was just happy they made the playoffs after 13 years. They got swept by the Rockies who will now face the D-Backs in the NLCS.

The Yankees are losing their series 0-2. I hope they don’t get swept too. I may not be able to watch their game tonight. Hey, Sunday is football day darnit.

Phillies lose 1st game

I know it’s only the first game of the series but it was at home. Ugh, maybe I’m glad I wasn’t able to see the game.

And no, I don’t plan on updating each and every game. I just realized that I hadn’t posted anything today.

Ryan Howard is the new strikeout king

Woohoo! Oh wait, that’s not exactly an accomplishment you should celebrate. lolol. He broke Adam Dunn’s record of 195 earlier in the week. Yesterday he set the record at 196. He also hit a 2-run homer yesterday and is a candidate for the NL MVP again this year!

Go Ryan!!!!!!!!!

That was a long game

I was watching Sports Center last night to see how both the Yankees and the Phillies did. The Yankees beat the Orioles 12-0. I guess Mike Mussina was feeling the heat and had a great outing last night.

However those Phillies. Holy heck they were driving me crazy. I watched two Sports Centers and a Baseball Tonight and they were still playing! They finally won in the 14th!!! I watched tv until the 13th inning, so I just missed seeing the highlights.

The Phillies are within 1 1/2 games in both the NL East and the wild card race. The Yankees are leading the wild card and 2 1/2 behind Boston in the AL East. Both of these races are really tight.

I’m loving this time of year.
