Of course I haven’t read my book yet

Ξ October 5th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, school, tv |

I still haven’t even started my book yet. I know what the book is about but I need to read it to see exactly what the author is saying. I don’t know how much I’ll actually read though. Baseball comes on at 1pm then there’s a 4pm baseball and football game. Then the Steelers play Sunday night football at 8pm.

I have a feeling I’m going to start reading the book on Monday morning.

I am so ticked at VH1 right now!!!!!!

Ξ September 7th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ tv, things that suck |

This is annoying the hell out of me right now! The VMA’s are on MTV right now. Big Whoop cause I could care less. I hate the VMA’s. I think they’re the worse award show out there and I’ve never watched them.

I turn on VH1 at 9:55 thinking I could catch the last 5 minutes of whatever show was on. All I saw was a 5 minute long promo for the VMA’s telling me that they’re on right now with a pull-back teaser showing who was on stage. Annoying but I’d deal with it. Except it’s now 10:15 and IT’S STILL ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long are they going to shill the damn awards?!?!?! If people want to watch they’ll watch. You shouldn’t cram it down peoples throats.

Whew, end of rant!!!!!!!!

My reality show guilty pleasure

Ξ August 27th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ celebrities, tv |

I usually don’t watch reality shows. I hate them in general because I believe a lot of the stuff is fake and scripted. But my new guilty pleasures are “I Love Money” and “I Wanna Work For Diddy” both on VH1.

This week on ILM they’re having a spitting contest. That’s extra super gross to me so I think I’ll watch the very beginning then skip the next 15 or so minutes and catch the rest of the show. I love watching all of the conniving and back-stabbing that goes on. I have 2 people that I’m especially rooting for to win so that will keep me watching.

As for Diddy, I could never work for him or be on his show. He’s such a perfectionist and a task master. He would drive me crazy. Or at the very least I would cuss him out and get kicked off of the show. I know that working for him could be life changing for the winner but it couldn’t be me. I don’t really have a favorite on this show yet. I do have 2 or 3 people I wish would get kicked off. And Laverne is not one.

I’ve finally come clean. I do watch reality shows. I now hang my head in shame.

We didnt do anything this past weekend

Ξ June 2nd, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ just chillin', tv |

All we did was go out to eat on Saturday. We usually go out for a while after we eat but we didn’t even do that. We walked around the mall for about 1/2 hr and then went home. We’re usually on the go all day. This weekend was real laid back and mellow.

I should have studied for my exam that’s tomorrow but I didn’t. I even missed the new show on USA called In Plain Sight. I was really looking forward to that show. I love the shows on USA. Especially Monk and Burn Notice. I haven’t watched Monk recently and Burn Notice should be starting it’s new season pretty soon.

I know I’m a nerd. It’s the beginning of summer and I’m excited about new tv shows starting.

Watching tv all day

Ξ April 30th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ tv |

I didn’t go to work today. All I did was watch tv all day. That is when I could John off of his X-Box. There was nothing good on tv either. The only thing that I saw that was mildy entertaining was commercials. I especially liked the Stride gum commercial where the ram banged into the guy to get him to spit out his gum. We both got a laugh out of that. Other than that, there was nothing we wanted to watch.

No wonder I don’t stay home from work very often. It’s very boring during the day.

The baseball package is cheaper than I thought

Ξ April 4th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, tv, baseball |

Yesterday I wrote that the baseball package on Comcast is $180. It’s actually $159 which is a little cheaper. I’m still not going to get the package but at least that’s more reasonable. I remember 2 years ago they offered a special after the first month and a half where the package was only $99. I would probably buy that.

I want to go to several games this year and I’m sure that will cost more than $99.

I love the baseball preview

Ξ April 3rd, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ sports, John, tv, Yankees, Pirates, baseball |

Right now Comcast is showing the baseball preview. It only lasts for 7 days. They start with opening day. I’ve mentioned before that I’m a Yankees fan so it’s great being able to see their games.

John has decided that he’s going to root for the Indians so we can watch their games too. We don’t see half as many Indians games as Yankees games so we’re going to take full advantage of the preview. You can always see the Yankees because Fox Sports and ESPN just love them and the Indians. We also have a local station that shows the Pirates but I don’t watch them most of the time.

For the next few days, I’ll just relax like I have one of those adjustable beds and enjoy the games. I just wish I had an extra $180 to buy the package for myself so I could watch baseball all summer. It would be cheaper than paying to go to the games once you factor in gas and food. But I’m sure that once summer really gets here, I won’t be in the house much anyway.

Now Snoop Dogg has a show

Ξ November 28th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ celebrities, tv |

These reality shows are getting ridiculous. They’re just giving anybody a reality show. Now it’s Snoop Dogg’s turn. I’m starting to hate some of this stuff as seen on tv. It’s really crazy. I’m a couch potato so I’ll catch bits and pieces of some of the shows when there’s nothing else on. These shows add nothing to the quality of tv. It just reinforces the boob-tube reference. I know for some of these people it’s their one shot at stardom. But I don’t know what the other people are thinking.

Suze Orman

Ξ November 17th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ money, tv |

I like her show but she’s so judgemental at times. Sometimes she gives great advice but other times her advice is suspect. She talks about mutual funds and whole life insurance a lot, but the majority of her money is in bonds.

I don’t understand how you can tell me about my money when you don’t even own the same types of investments.

Watching reality shows

Ξ November 13th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ tv |

I hate reality tv. I know it’s fake. Most of the people are just looking to advance their acting careers and that’s cool. I just can’t believe some of the lengths some people go to while they’re on tv though.

I’m thinking specifically about I Love New York 2. I still can’t believe that whole episode with her feet. But last week with the helmet still has me cracking up. I usually read the synopsis on the internet and watch the actual show the following week. Spoiler say she ends up with either Tailor Made or Buddha, depending on which site you believe. Buddha is sexy and scary at the same time. What does it say about me that I like it, I like it a lot.

I would never go on any of these shows though. I guess I’m not enough of a exhibitionist.
