Archive for the ‘tv’

Hey where’s my program?

I’ve finally started a exercise regiment. It’s only 4 days a week right now but I decided that if I start with something reasonable I’m more likely to stick to it. I know that I need new exercise dvds but I love to watch the programs On Demand. First of all, they’re free and there’s nothing better than that. I also don’t have to worry about energy auditing my house because all it costs me is the energy to run the television which I would have been doing anyway.

Imagine my surprise when I went to watch my favorite program and it was gone! They usually run them for 3 months at a time then replace them within 2 weeks with another program. It was unexpected to say the least. I was all ready to get started and that put a serious crimp in my plans.

Luckily I do have one dvd that’s my old standby that I was able to pull out and get my workout in. I don’t need any distractions cause it’s hard enough to stay motivated as it is.

There is nothing on tv

I’m really missing my sports today. Especially after the overload I got all weekend. There was all kinds of football and baseball every day. In addition to that I had the repeats of several of my favorite shows. I have to wait until Thursday to see more sports. Then I get to overload again.

At least I have one of my favorite shows coming on tomorrow.

I’m glad the Summer rerun season is over

I’ve actually gotten hooked on a new show and I was so tired of all of the reality shows that are coming on. Most of them don’t even have a point to the show. It’s one thing to compete for something, like on Survivor or The Biggest Loser. But shows now are featuring people who are famous for just being famous. I don’t think anyone’s life is that interesting that I just want to watch the cameras follow them around.

That’s why I spent so much time shopping and being out of the house this summer. I bought everything from household cleaners to discount rugs. I would just buy stuff to have something to do. Now that the new tv shows are here, I will spend a lot more time in the house.

It doesn’t hurt that the baseball playoffs are about to heat up and we’re full swing into football season.

Some commercials are really gross

I’m watching the news and a commercial comes on for a plastic surgeons office. The woman they show is getting surgery for her varicroseveins. Then they show a bunch of other people standing there with icky veins. It looked really nasty because their legs were really bumpy like cellulite but it was their veins sticking out.

I know it’s a fact of life for some people but geesh, cut the rest of us some slack with the grossness.

I don’t know what to do with myself

It’s pretty crazy. For the past several months I’ve been bogged down with school and work. My last class was the week that just passed. Now I don’t have anything to do. I do have some writing goals that I want to start on but right now I can’t get into any kind of groove. All I’ve been doing for the past several days is watching tv. I’ve seen so many commercials for mesothelioma that I can recite them by heart. It’s just too bad that the only thing on television right now is reruns. I’m ready to watch just about anything.

At least next week I’ll be back in my groove with writing. I plan on focusing on that for the next few months and see how it goes.

My reality show addiction

I never thought I would get addicted to reality shows. I really don’t like most of them. But for some reason I watch almost every show on VH1 right now. Well except the one about the video chicks. I’ve never even watched one episode of that and I don’t plan on it. I love the Bret Michaels’ show. It was crazy for a while with all of those girls in that one rv, winnebago, bus or whatever it is. But that show is almost over for the season. Next week is the finale so I have to replace it.

Now I have to decide if I want to watch the challenge show or the dating show.

This is a great promo

I’m watching a reality show right now and a lot of the cast members are wearing a certain designers shirt. It’s really funny because I had only heard of this designer in passing before. But on 2 different reality shows this year, I’ve seen his shirts.

It’s great advertising for this designer. And a darn smart move!

I plan on watching tv all weekend

I just feel like such a slacker right now. I don’t want to do anything at all, especially this weekend. I’m not going to do any school work at all. I have a book to finish reading that I’m putting off until Monday or Tuesday. I do have to go out food shopping tomorrow but that’s about it. I may go to several stores because I want to look for some new shoes.

The rest of tomorrow and all day Sunday I plan on spending in front of the boob tube. I don’t care if it’s CSI, reality shows or a informercial about a new Colonix program, I’ll watch it. If I totally can’t find anything that I like, I’ll watch one of my old dvds of the Matrix.

And I don’t feel bad about slacking at all!

Tyler Perry in drag again?!?!?!

I had another post all written out but then I saw the ads for his new movie. Of course “Madea” is the title character. I don’t have anything against TP but I remember a few years ago where he said that he was retiring the Madea character. He still hasn’t retired her.

I guess I’m really tired of the whole phase. It’s not even the whole drag thing either. I know he wants to send a good message but his movies are super preachy. They start to get on your nerves. But his tv shows are the worse. Most of the actors can’t act and it seems like they’re just trying to upstage each other when they’re not trying to profile for the camera.

I know he wants to make the shows seem real but the characters are stilted and it’s really insulting. I hate to say it but both of his shows come across more as a shuck n’ jive routine than real acting. I guess he wanted to portray middle class blacks but in my opinion he really missed the mark. Not every middle class black family are like the Huxtables and perfect (they’re actually upper middle but whatever), but they certainly don’t act like the people on his shows either.

I guess Tyler is on a paper chase and he’s gonna dress in drag until people get tired of it. It’s a shame really because to me he seems like a person who doesn’t stand behind his word.

I love seeing celebrity cameos

Right now I’m watching CSI:Miami. Today’s guest stars are Michael DeLorenzo and John Schneider. I wasn’t really surprised to see John but I haven’t seen Michael in forever. It was funny because when I saw his name scroll across the scene I didn’t think it could possibly be the same person because I haven’t seen him on tv for a long time.

Most of the network shows have guest stars in their episodes and I love trying to guess who I’ll see next.
