Yeah!!! It’s the start of baseball season. I also forgot that it’s Easter weekend and I don’t have to be back at work until Monday! 4 days away from this place will really do me some good. I just plan on relaxing and not worrying about or doing anything. Hopefully I’ll come back well rested, refreshed and ready to get back to work.
Our overtime is going strong and I hope to get back on track with that once I get back next week. I am literally giddy with excitement.

Woo woo I can’t wait!!! I love baseball. It signals the start of Spring and it means that Summer is coming very soon. But baseball season is the most important part of Spring for me. I don’t get to as many games as I would like to but I watch a ton of games. Any sports channel or local channel that’s showing a game is on in my house. Even if it’s a team that I don’t particularly care for.
I’m one of those people that can watch any team that’s playing whether I like them or not. I don’t support those teams though. I do support the Yankees, Phillies and Pirates. They’re my favorite teams and I buy a ton of their merchandise. From t-shirts and jerseys to custom pins that say “my name loves baseball”, you’ll always catch me wearing something baseball related from April through the end of the season.
I’ve already taken this Thursday, the 5th, because it’s opening day. And there will be baseball all day and all night at my house. I can’t wait!

My new goal is to lose 1 pants size by the end of April. Every year I add that same goal to my resolutions list but I never seem to make it. But I think this is the year that I do it.
I don’t plan on restricting my food intake although I will start watching what I eat a little more. That means not as many chips and snacks, especially at night and on the weekends. I’ll incorporate more healthy snacks like fruit and almonds into my diet. I eat these things anyway but I also eat a lot of unhealthy stuff. If I can limit that while still having snack type items, I should be fine.
Almost all of my weight loss will come from walking to work every day. Luckily it’s almost Spring and we have really nice weather that’s not too bad to walk in. Since I’m adding almost 1 1/2 miles of semi-intensive walking to my routine, I should shed some weight. As a incentive, I have one of those bertucci watches that I saw someone wearing on my list as a “job well done” gift to myself.
The thought of buying myself something is always motivating. I may even drop the weight before the end of the month, but I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself. After all, I still want the occasional snack.

And it’s all because of work. I have a longer walk to get to work now. One of my coworkers used a pedometer and it’s almost a mile. Counting each way I walk over a mile and a half every day. That’s good because it’s great exercise but it’s a killer work-out.
Part of my walk is over a bridge with a slight incline. You wouldn’t think you would notice it but once you get on the other side of the bridge, your legs feel it. I also have 61 steps to walk up once I get to my job site. And yes I did count! I could take a elevator but I figure I need the exercise so I’ll just suck it up.
No wonder I’ve been so tired though, this walk is tuckering me out.

I was so tired that it wasn’t even funny. I hadn’t slept well the night before and even coffee wasn’t helping me. I still felt like I was sleep walking for half of the day. The fact that I walked to work and took a long walk for lunch certainly didn’t help. By the end of the day I was running on fumes.
The worse part was that once I got home last night I couldn’t sleep. I tried to take a short nap but I couldn’t fall asleep. Then I got up and did some running around that I needed to do and got back home about an hour later. I figured that all of that would really tire me out. While I was exhausted, I still didn’t fall asleep any faster. I ended up staying up until my normal time and then tossing and turning for almost an hour.
Hopefully today will be better.

I am not a morning person at all. I never have been. Before I started working at my current company, I always worked in the evenings so I never saw morning. If I did, it was because I was rolling over to go to sleep for the first time.
Now I have a normal corporate position where I have to be at work by 8:30am and it’s no fun at all. I generally have to be up by 6:30am at the latest if I want to get to work on time. Considering I don’t go to sleep until 1 or 2am, I don’t get a lot of sleep. We have 2 or 3 commercial bunn coffee maker machines in the office and I take full advantage of them. It’s funny because I always teased my mom about drinking coffee all day. Now it’s my turn.
Days like today I daydream about working nights again. Then I get to go home at a normal hour and hang with my friends and I give up that dream really quickly.

But I don’t want to come to work this weekend!! My workleader is already hounding me to come in tomorrow but I just want to relax. I know that the overtime can end at anytime and it’s not going to last forever but I’m just tired. I do know that I need some time to myself but I’m not going to do anything but lounge around the house and possibly sleep.
Meanwhile if I come in, I know I can add a few dollars to my savings fund. I know that I’ll have a furniture bill in the future as well as just needing to add to my savings. I’ll see how I feel tomorrow morning. I may or may not come in.
Unfortunately I’ll probably be here.

Today is such a blah day. I am so tired just in general. I feel like I could sleep for a week right now. My workleader is trying to hint around to the fact that she’s coming in on Saturday but I don’t think I want to work this weekend either. I haven’t worked on the weekend for about 3 weeks and I don’t think I’m going to start anytime soon.
I really need a vacation. Speaking of which, the hotel list didn’t come out this week. That means that on Monday I’ll be stalking the site again next week looking for deals. I really hope that there is a good hotel on the list but I highly doubt it.
Most people look for good deals during the summer months but I like to vacation in late spring. That way I’m refreshed before everyone else leaves and then I get to relax while everyone else is out and on vacation. It seems weird but it generally works out.
I just hope I’m able to make something happen this year.

I know I’ve only been taking my pills for a couple of days but I don’t feel anything. The weight is not supposed to just drop off but I don’t feel anything at all. I still have hunger pains so there is no appetite suppresant. I don’t have extra energy so I still have to drink coffee with a ton of sugar. It’s a mess.
I should have just saved my money. I think once this bottle is done, I’ll just start drinking 2 shakes per day instead of one and monitoring my meals. But I am totally done with these useless pills.

I belong to several hotel loyalty groups that allow you to earn points to trade in for various incentives. Those incentives include free nights, gift cards and even various merchandise. But the big draw is the free nights that you can accumulate.
One of the programs even offers discounted nights. So instead of needing say 10K points, you may only need 6K for a free night. The discounts change quarterly and you can pretty much book as many nights as you have points for. Most of the time the hotels aren’t anywhere I want to go. A lot of local places in not so touristy states. Maybe once per year you get somewhere good.
This current quarter, which ends on the 31st, there was a hotel in Cancun. It’s not on the beach but who cares, it’s only a short bus ride to a beach. There are also hotels in Brazil, Germany, and France all at steep discounts. All I would need to do is find a decent airfare and I can have a really cheap vacation.
The new hotels should come out today and I’m hoping for somewhere awesome!
